On fallen branch by ashtree near farm made derelict by the M6 (Low Park Farm) in Lune Valley 7 miles N.E. of Kendal.
On a Hawthorne branch next to where the fallen branch from the big Ash tree was.
The Ash must have died and been felled, the great trunk lies where it fell.
Low Park Farm, recently abandoned by the building of the M6 in 1971, has decayed further with collapsing roofs. Part of the farm has been encroached by new embankments strengthening the railway which now carries a lot of the high speed traffic with new electrification. The fells on Fell Head to the east of the River Lune seem to have maintained a remarkable consistency in the areas of bracken cover.
