By incredible coincidence it is by a sheep lick marker on an oil drum up on Arkengarthdale Moor about 1/2 mile south of the moor road.
On the same iron stake that marked the position of the sheep lick in 1971 on Arkengarthdale moor.
The heather moor land seems much the same in the way that peat and heather and bog does however the Grouse Shoot appears to have been heavily invested in with new Butts built on the side of the gill. Patches of heather have been burnt in a modern and scientific way.
Five miles to the north the A66 Brough to Bowes can be seen crossing Bowes moor carrying a procession of lorries.
